Chinese Painting Class

The Chinese Painting teacher, Ms. Lydia Hwang will teach Chinese painting before and after our language class at 12:20 p.m. and at 4:10 p.m., enrollment permitting. On September 10, 2016, the first day of school, Ms. Lydia Hwang will hold two free sessions of informational and hands-on painting demonstration at 12:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Both sessions will be held in Room 305.

The syllabus for the different levels of students:

兒童初級班 Children beginner class
- 櫻桃 cherry, 桃子 peach, 西瓜 watermelon, 牽牛花 morning glow, 鬰金香 tulip, 菊花 chrysanthemum, 香菇 mushroom
兒童中級班 Children intermediate class
- insects(昆蟲), landscape(山水), vegetables(蔬果),flowers (花卉), 荷花 lotus, 蘭 orchid
成人初級班 Adult beginner class
- 草莓 strawberry, 桃花 peach blossom, 枇杷 loquat, 葡萄 grape, 鬰金香 tulip, 牽牛花 morning glow, 荷花 lotus, 蘭 orchid
成人中級班 Adult intermediate class
- small animal (小動物), insects(昆蟲), landscape(山水), birds & flowers(花鳥), fishes(魚類), bamboo(竹), 蘭 orchid
成人高級班 Adult advanced class
- Students have already mastered the basic and intermediate Chinese brush painting techniques and want to learn more skills to create his/her own composition.
- 成人高級班的學生是要培養自由創作的能力 , 將學過的任何一個單元作為主題 , 學習自由創作的能力。例如：山水畫可以用照片上所攝風景景點做創作 , 花卉可以用國畫技巧寫生習作 , 達到這份技藝力道想來就可完成你的國畫課程了

Materials needed for class (student needs to bring): 中國書畫班每位同學請自備:

Chinese Brushes (medium-sized) 2 brushes for each student
毛筆(中號) 2隻
Rice paper
宣紙
Ink stick & ink stone or one bottle of ink (Mozhi)
墨 ,硯台或是墨汁
Watercolor (red, blue, yellow, white)
國畫或水彩顏料 : 紅色(洋紅) ; 黄色(藤黄);蓝色(花青);白色(鋅白)
White ceramic mixing tray or plate (white kitchen dish; not plastic mixing plate)
白瓷調色盤: 或家用的白色瓷盤: ***(非塑料盤)
A piece of felt about 2’x2’ (placed under the rice paper to prevent the excess moisture from the ink or color stain on the desk)
毛毯約2尺x2尺(墊在桌上易吸水墨, 色彩)

*Felt material is available at most fabric stores.
